09 Sep SLEEP 500
Sleep 500
Moving on, we’re joining the Open Ateliers Köln event, from 23-25 September, where we invite people to experience a touch of our routine while producing artworks.
The modern futuristic social rhythm of today reflects the ultimate actions of a decaying system, based on perpetual materialistic consumption.
As this voracious way of consuming the Earth is not aligned with the new ethics of sustainable business, this routine of consumption has needed to morph into something still real, but not material anymore.
Today, humans consume digital performances of others that suit exactly what their psychological needs want, to a point that re-defines the ideology and actions of each social being, behind an intelligent and manipulative glass screen.
Humans are so heavily tamed, that they simply surrender and enjoy in silence, expecting a time when everything can be materialized out of the desires from within their minds.
And just like that, the individual of today enjoys the bliss of endless sleep; being amazed by the beauties of a perfect digitalized world, where physical contact can only happen through bio-mechanical symbioses, organized by various different robotic sensors installed everywhere within the human body.
Sleep 500 is the inspiration received from this understanding, that originated a collaborative set of works looking to re-establish connections out of this digitalized world; and back to the vivid analog world where life happens in essence.
The collective actions were orchestrated by 8057art, Alex Lehmann and Marcel Robertz, ranging from paintings on canvas, unimaginable photos, graphic design, literature reading and video projections.
As always, music and cold drinks will be there to soften all possible edges.
If you’re interested and would like to experience that, we invite you to join us!
Love
